In order to provide flexibility for our students, we offer a combination of online coursework and in-person training. Not only is this helpful with scheduling, but it allows students to combine theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience.
Our students can apply the techniques they’re learning in real time. In addition to technical application, hands-on coursework aids in the development of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and patient care—all of which are essential for interacting with patients and working effectively in a dental team.
Certifications and Exams
*DANB is the nationally recognized certification organization for Dental Assistants and has no association with Harmony Dental Assisting School, LLC. The current cost of the DANB exam is $270.
Do I need any prior dental experience to apply?
No! Some of our students have completed dental-related coursework or work experience in the past, but many of our students are brand new to the field of dentistry.
Do I need an associate’s or bachelor’s degree to enroll in the program?
Our students need a high school degree, GED, or recognized equivalency prior to enrolling in our course. Higher education beyond that may be beneficial but is not required.
Does the program prepare for any DANB Certification?
Our coursework is designed to both help students prepare for careers as dental assistants and pass the Dental Assisting National Board exam. While not all dental assisting positions require candidates to be certified, dental assistants who pass the DANB exam can often look forward to more career opportunities and higher wages.
What are the career opportunities after completing the program?
Our program is geared toward helping students gain the knowledge and skills they need to become exceptional, qualified dental assistants. However, some students ultimately decide to pursue different opportunities, like working in the front office of a dental practice. No matter your goals, our instructors would love to help you find the right career opportunities for you!
